In honor of Sr. Frances Caine (OP, OAM)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sr. Frances Caine who left us yesterday evening.

Sr Frances had a long and impactful association with St Mary's College, leading the school as Principal throughout the 1980s, overseeing the move of the school from Portsea to Wantirna South and was a leader in the field establishing an inclusive educational program in partnership that our students continue to enjoy today. Her dedication and service to the St Mary's school community over many, many years will be long remembered.

Sr. Frances was awarded the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in 2002 in recognition of her extraordinary contributions and service to deaf and hard of hearing children.

Sr. Frances enriched peoples lives through her unwavering support and service throughout her life. She formed connections with the community and for the community. A friend to St Mary's College for the Deaf. She will be deeply missed.
